Like the PAFs that would follow, the P-90 of the 1950s was essentially wound until the operator felt they “looked right,” leading to a wide array of variance from pickup to pickup. While this makes emulating the P-90 sound of the 50s a fleeting proposition, it also adds to the charm of the era.

For the Gunstreet 50s Era P-90, we used a stellar example from a real-deal 1955 Les Paul Jr. as a reference point and then tweaked the recipe to perfection. The result is the rich, versatile tone that bridges the gap between single-coil and humbucker, with the perfect balance of vintage vibe and modern craftsmanship.
