Most Common Pickup Wires

Non-switchable Pickup Key

(Single Conductor, Shielded Single Conductor)

Hot Output=+ Ground = -

switchable Pickup Key

(Shielded double Conductor, 4 Conductor)

Hot Output=+, Ground = -,Series=S, B=Bare wire

Let's Start with the Bridge Pickup

4 Conductor Wires and their pickup Color Codes

For this tutorial we will be using Seymour Duncan Color Codes.  Black is the Hot, Red and White soldered together is the Series, and Green is the Ground. Each pickup brand uses their own set of color codes. So, these colors might not match your pickups. We have included this diagram showing you all the color codes for other brands.

Pro Tip* Don't Lock Down the harnesses Volume and Tone Controls until all your soldering is done

Bridge Pickup Install

Start by first soldering the Bridge pickups Hot Wire to the White Hot Input on the Bridge Tone Control.

Next solder your Bridge pickups Ground Wire to the Black Ground Input Wire on the Bridge Tone Control.

bridge pickup install

Solder your Bridge pickups Bare Wire to the casing of the Volume Pot. This will finish your Bridge Pickup Install. This is not mandatory but a good idea, with our harness  we included 3 heat shrink tubes meant to cover all the exposed soldering joints on the pickup. place the heat shrink tubes over the joints and use heat to shrink the tube

Now Time for the Neck Pickup. With these instructions we used a shielded single conductor style pickup

Neck Pickup install

Solder your Neck Pickups Hot Wire to the first lug on the Neck Volume Pot. See the Diagram to the left if you don't know which lug is the first  lug. Finish the Neck Pickup Install by soldering the Neck Pickups Ground wire to the casing of the pot.

NEXT FINISH THE WHOLE INSTALL BY SOLDERING THE GUITARS GROUND WIRE THAT IS COMING FROM YOUR GUITARS BRIDGE TO THE CASING OF THE NECK VOLUME POT

that's it!

You can test if the wiring is working by going through the controls while lightly tapping the pickups with a metal object. If you have any questions feel free to contact us!

How to use the Harness

The Phase wiring only works when you have the switch in Middle position. You can engage the Phase option when you lift up on the push pull in the Bridge Tone position
