How to install

This instruction works for a 50s, Modern, or Volume Bleed wiring kit

Context for these instructions.

The pickups we are installing in this instruction have Cloth wires for the leads. The install is the same for all styles of pickup wires. Double check with your pickup's manufacturer to figure out what style of pickup leads you have and if there is a color code with them.

  • Neck Pickup
    • Hot/+ = White Wire
    • Ground/- = Black
  • Bridge Pickup
    • Hot/+ = Yellow Wire
    • Ground/- = Black
    •

Starting with the Neck pickup

Solder your Neck pickups "Hot/+" to the far right lug on the toggle switch.

Solder your Bridge pickups "Hot/+" to the far Left lug on the toggle switch.

Finishing the pickup installation

Combine both "Grounds/-" from the Neck and Bridge Pickups, and solder them to the Top middle lug. Just make sure these wires are only touching that lug and not the switch itself, or the previuos joints we soldered as this could ground out your whole signal.

Finishing the pickup installation

Solder the wire(S) coming from your guitars tailpeice to the casing of any pot. On this example the tone pot was the easiest.

And thats it!

Test the controls before restringing the guitar by lightly taping the pickups with a Metal object.
