COMMON FAQ

Before filling out the contact us form. Please check out the answers for these common questions

General Questions

Q: Can I pick up a kit from your location in Portland?

A: We're located in NW industrial area of Portland, but our location is not open to the public. We offer free shipping on most orders and ship quickly.

Q: Can I ship my guitar to you for installation of the kit or pickups?

A: We don't offer installation services. We recommend taking your guitar to a qualified local technician.

Q: Are all your kits solderless?

A: No, we offer both hand-wired and solderless kits. Only kits that have "solderless" in the name or as a variant choice are solderless.

Ordering Questions

Q: An item I want is out of stock. When will it be available?

A: We strive to restock items as quickly as possible. In the meantime, check with our dealers, as they may have our kits in stock.

Q: I just bought a kit. When will it ship?

A: Most orders ship within 1-3 business days. We are open Monday-Friday, 10:30 AM to 6:30 PM PST. Orders placed on Friday will likely ship the following Monday-Wednesday.

Q: I ordered the wrong kit. Can I change my order?

A: As long as your order has not shipped, we can easily change it. Reply to your order confirmation email with the correct kit. If you have already received the wrong kit, reply to one of your order emails, and we'll arrange an exchange. You will be responsible for the cost of return shipping.

Custom orders or Requests

Q: I want kit X, but it uses 250k pots. Can I swap those out for 500k?

A: Absolutely. We can change the pot values in many of our kits. Please note that while custom-valued kits carry the same "Gunstreet Promise" warranty as regular kits, they are sold as-is and are not eligible for returns.

Q: I want kit X, but it uses solid shaft pots. Can I swap those out for knurled shaft pots?

A: Similar to part values, we can also change the shaft style. As with custom-valued kits, custom part kits carry the "Gunstreet Promise" warranty but are sold as-is and are not eligible for returns.

Q:Is it possible to obtain the X kit in a left-handed configuration?

A: While left-handed kits were previously offered, they have been discontinued.

Q: I know you don't offer Left-handed kits but is it feasible to modify a right-handed kit for left-handed use?

A: While modifications to our kits will nullify our “Gunstreet Promise warranty”, our kits incorporate right-handed audio potentiometers which cannot be reversed.

Q: I have a "Blank" guitar, and I don't see a kit for it. Will you make me a custom kit?

A: We discontinued offering custom order/one-off kits in mid-2022. Therefore, we are unable to fulfill custom requests. However, we are constantly developing new kits for various guitars, so please check back later or sign up for our newsletter to stay informed about the latest releases.

Q: I want kit X, but can you add a specific pickup switching, or a mod like coil cutting, phase, etc?

A: Unfortunately, adding specific modifications falls under the custom order/one-off category, which we no longer offer.

Q: I have a vintage guitar I am restoring and need a wiring harness. Will you make one for me?

A: We are not structured as a repair or specialty wiring shop. Our primary focus is manufacturing and maintaining our existing product lines, so we cannot create custom wiring harnesses for vintage guitars.

Q: I found a wiring diagram online. Will you use it to make a kit for me?

A: Using external diagrams to create custom kits falls under the custom order/one-off category, which we no longer offer.
