WHO ARE WE?
For over a decade, Gunstreet has been a presence in the music world. Initially, Sean focused on connecting customers with distinctive custom circuits and vintage guitars. This quickly expanded to fine-tuning electrical circuits to precise customer specifications and developing robust building techniques, ensuring the wiring could endure the rigors of touring. As Gunstreet's reputation grew, the demand for its electronics surpassed the guitar sales, transforming the company into its current form: a leader in providing the world's finest guitar electronics to musicians.

The man behind Gunstreet
Since 2005, Sean has been dedicated to circuit design. When he was our custom shop builder, he crafted tens of thousands of unique one-off kits, including many for high-profile musicians.
Believe it or not, lots of modern wiring terms and popular "clean wiring" features come straight from his ideas.

WHY ARE WE CALLED GUNSTREET?
The name Gunstreet originates from a cherished parable told by Sean's grandfather, featuring Hugh O'Kane (1854-1930),a family friend and revered figure from Sean's hometown.
Born in Bushmill, Ireland, Hugh embarked on a remarkable journey at age twelve, stowing away on a totally random ship the end up going to New York. He navigated the challenging streets of "Gangs of New York" era New York City, earning a living by shining shoes and selling newspapers, demonstrating early resilience. His adventurous spirit led him across the globe, taking on varied roles such as a professional boxer and promoter in Cape Town, a gun smuggler in Cuba, and even befriending Doc Holliday in Tombstone. Hugh's relentless drive and thirst for knowledge were evident in his tireless work ethic. Even when faced with misfortune, like the destruction of his grand hotels by fire, Hugh responded with unwavering determination, rebuilding stronger each time and epitomizing the power of resilience.
Hugh's entrepreneurial drive was extraordinary, constantly seeking improvement. He revolutionized the local economy, not merely participating in it. His saloon, open continuously, served as a self-contained hub, offering everything patrons of a classic wild west town could need, thus keeping them happy. This dedication to constant betterment brought him significant local success. But after his third version of the perfect saloon burned down, Hugh, like a phoenix, rose from the ashes to innovate once more. Drawing from all his diverse experiences, he constructed the O'Kane Building, an architectural marvel and the first reinforced concrete structure of its size in the small wild west town. This building sparked intense competition among local businesses, fostering as Sean's grandfather called a "Gun battle of innovation." It became such a symbol that local entrepreneurs dubbed it "Gun Street," representing an ethos that compelled others to innovate and compete harder, or face their failure.
Hugh O'Kane was not only a shrewd businessman but also a dedicated community advocate. Alongside his friend and business partner, M.P. Cashman (Sean's great-grandfather), O'Kane channeled his resources and efforts into bolstering vital community institutions. Their collaborative endeavors led to the establishment of the modern Hospital and the construction of new schools, as well as resources designed to support new or struggling community members. They firmly believed that a strong community was built upon shared well-being and opportunity. This belief was put to the test, as in the 1920s, they courageously stood up against threats from the Ku Klux Klan, defending the community's values and its most vulnerable inhabitants
The story's core message extends beyond Hugh's personal legacy, emphasizing self-improvement and collective advancement. It highlights the profound ability of individuals, regardless of their beginnings, to positively shape a community, demonstrating that true prosperity lies in the unity and well-being of all its people.
